For the week of September 17, 2023
Hi church family!
I hope you had a good weekend. Mine was pretty good! Ezra has turned a significant corner in his healing from having his tonsils removed, and we are all starting to get back to a normal schedule at the Bogen’s household. Here’s what we are looking at this week:
JOY club:
This Thursday our JOY club is meeting at Bob Evans in Middleburg Heights at 12:30. We hope to see you there!
Baptism Sunday and Lord’s Supper:
On the first week of October, we get to partake of two very special and significant moments in church life: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
Baptism- Ryleigh Yurick is getting baptized at our church service. You may remember TJ, Sarah, Ryleigh, and Lexi Yurick from our congregation- they were with us for some time, and then God moved them to Alabama late last year. They come up to visit regularly, and this time during their visit Ryleigh will be baptized! Please mark your calendar and plan to come on out to church on October 1st to cheer on our sister in Christ as she follows the Lord in baptism
Lord’s Supper- We are also having the Lord’s Supper on this day. The Lord’s supper is for all believers who are not at odds with other believers and are not harboring unrepentant sin in their hearts. I would ask you to prepare your hearts between now and October 1st so you can receive the elements.
Ray Roberts Mission Moment:
During the month of September, we are participating in our annual love offering for Southern Baptists Convention of Ohio and praying for the works that God has here. The goal of our church is $250, but we are asking everyone to pray for each work highlighted each week.
This week we are praying for pastor Amer Safadi of Kingdom family Arabic Church. In his words,
“Since God called me from Jordan to the United States my dream and vision has been reaching the community, making disciples, connecting, and equipping leaders and church planters, and sending them to plant healthy, multiplying Arabic church in every city within and Arabic community. Through the Ray Roberts Offering gifts we were able to hold two gatherings of potential church planters and their wives. We had 46 leaders from 11 different cities in six different states.
We now have 14 potential church planters applying with the North American Mission Board to plant Arabic church during the next two years. We also launched monthly Arabic church planters training on Zoom.”
When you give to Ray Roberts State Missions Offering, you give to reach the nations, equip leaders, and plant healthy multiplying churches.
How we can pray for Pastor Safadi:
Pray for Wisdom to lead this great movement across the Arabic community in Ohio and across the country.
Pray for the right team to help with this ministry.
Pray for the financial needs of this ministry.
Pray for pastor Safadi’s financial needs so he doesn’t have to go back to work outside of the ministry.
