MissionsAt PHBC, ‘missions’ is the mindset and drive in how we make disciples who are exalting, equipping and engaging. We attempt to model the command Jesus gave us in Matthew 28:19 as well as Acts 1:8 by first reaching those in our congregation, then our community (Brook Park, Middleburg), then to Ohio, and lastly, to the nations. On our journey here at PHBC, God has literally commanded us to go to the uttermost part of the earth………so we started in the country of Indonesia.
Our journey to bring Jesus to the nations began in 2011. God began to lay on the heart of young man connected with PHBC that through coffee the people of Indonesia could be reached for the gospel of Christ. Through the Lord’s working in many details, December 2012 brought about a huge event for PHBC. The first team of seven from PHBC made a 30+ hour trip to Indonesia. While there God began planting seeds and allowed for many opportunities to scope out what the Lord would have the PHBC to do to have His name known. Through a series of events, PHBC took a second team in December of 2013. Shortly after this trip, we as a church body began to seek the Lord as to what our greater presence would look like in Indonesia. Through prayer, the Lord has lead us to adopt the Pantai people of Indonesia. There are over 300,000 Pantai who need to see Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Since committing to reach this specific group, we continue to send teams every year. As we listen to the heartbeat of God, may we see people through His eyes and have a burden to see the lost come to the saving knowledge of faith in Christ. |
